Edna Mode is a character from the Disney Pixar animated movie The Incredibles. Edna is a half Japanese, half German eccentric fashion designer. Using her aesthetic skills, and taking into account protective qualities and practical uses that each individual wearer requires, she dresses the superhero community.  The Edna mode character is a direct homage to real world Hollywood costume designer Edith Head with her no-nonsense personality and round glasses.

Thinkway toys made an interactive talking Edna Mode doll that is simply……INCREDIBLE! The doll is 14″ tall and made of plastic. Edna’s dress is a silky black material. She does not come with separate stockings and shoes; her legs and feet are molded black plastic. She has pose able arms with articulated shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints. She requires 3 AAA batteries. She is an interactive talking doll that will recognize and respond to words from her chat list; she has over 60 sayings! Edna fuses fashion sense with the latest technology! This superhero designer can respond to your voice. Anything you say, Edna responds in her sassy style!

Use Edna’s chat list to talk to her. She’ll recognize the chat list and answer back!

Edna’s Chat list:

How are you?

What’s up?

Let’s talk!

Fashion tips?

A makeover?

Edna!

Do I look good?

Some of Edna’s responses:

A guest! Hello darling, I’m Edna

No complaints, no complaints; and you darling?

Let me design something for you okay darling?

Anytime darling, go ahead and speak your mind

Haven’t you heard? You must be from out of town darling!

Dress to express darling!

You need a new look that is certain

You are trapped in your look darling, let me design your escape!

Simple, elegant, yes! I release you to socialize!

You come see me again okay darling?

Teddy Ruxpin-the talking bear!!

15 Nov

Teddy Ruxpin is an animatronic talking plush bear. He was first produced in 1985 by toy manufacturer Worlds of Wonder.Teddy would move his mouth and eyes as he read stories via a standard cassette tape deck built into his back.

These Cassette tapes were not the typical cassette music tapes that you remember; they were square measuring approx. 2″x2″. A normal (non-Teddy) cassette tape is designed for stereo playback with two distinct tracks on each side for the left and right speakers. In contrast, a Teddy Ruxpin cassette uses the two tracks differently: the left track contains the audio, while the right track encodes the toy’s movements. A special hole in the top of the cassette tells the teddy bear that the right track contains movement data. This hole is similar to a standard cassette’s write protection notch, but closer to the center.
